This is your opportunity to strut your stuff and show us how you can give new life to an old piece of clothing.
What do you need to do to participate, you ask? Identify a piece of clothing you already own and rejuvenate it with modifications and embellishments. Perhaps some studs would freshen up that old jacket. The sleeves from the blouse you can't button sure would look cute sewn or "stitch witched" into that sleeveless dress. Maybe you get creative with creating straps for a strapless dress that you're tired of and never stayed up anyway. New buttons on an old sweater. Sew vintage jewelry remnants onto your jeans. The possibilities are endless. We want to see how creative you can be.
To participate, please send before and after pictures (jpeg) of the clothing item, a detailed written description of modifications, materials list, and total cost of the modification along with your stylethread name, so we know who you are. Email submissions no later than June 15, 2009 to stylethread@stylethread.com
A stitch will be created will all the submissions, and voting set up in a dedicated thread on the forum. Voters will judge submissions based on creativity, wearability, and resourcefulness.
The submission that receives the most votes will win. The winner will be interviewed and featured along with their design in an upcoming stitch. We'll see what we can do so send some goodies your way too...
